Here’s the deal. We leave for camp in 2 hours and I’ve got A LOT to do, so this is going to be short and sweet. First of all sorry for missing the post last week. I was preaching so can’t make too many technical comments about the music. My brain was elsewhere for the morning. Preaching 3 servies in a row is exhausting. I’m hoping to get the audio up on the site next week. This week it was back to worship leading and here’s what we did.
New Doxology (G) > I love this song from Gateway Worship. The additional verses are great and it allows us to use the traditional doxology in our modern environment without it seeming out of place. We don’t use the chorus, but simply stick with the verses. It was a good opener and really captured that “call to worship” vibe.
All We Need (E) > These next two were last minute additions. We missed our rehearsal for this week so we chose these songs as familiar fall-backs. It’s NEVER a good idea to miss rehearsal, but when you absolutely have to make it work it’s nice to have songs to fall back on.
You Alone (E) > I LOVE THIS SONG. Always have. Always will. It’s simple, easy to sing, and more often than not naturally creates great moments of worship. I know what you’re thinking, “That song is 11 years old!” Yeah, it’s that good.
*note: Sorry about the link. That’s the best video I could find quickly.
You Gave Your Life Away (G) > This song captures the entire story. From creation through resurrection and redemption. One of our newer favorites at Mayfield.
That’s all I’ve got to say. Sorry if you were hoping for more. I’m sure the guys and gals over at Fred McKinnon’s site will give you plenty to chew on for the week.

Great songs – I especially like “You Gave Your Life Away.”
I’ve also used New Doxology and decided to take advantage of the extra verses but skip the bridge.
We did “You gave Your life” this week also. Great song.
Awesome set- short and sweet! Love it!
WOW – love the setlist. I think I’ll playlist it on my iPhone to get the flow! You Alone is on our regular rotation – the message is awesome. Blessings!
